2. World’s Fair Mural: This mural of Americana inspired me to write an homage to Charles Ives. There is a progress theme in 9/8 to 7/8 to 5/8 to 3/8 which is interrupted by small quotes of American tunes. The first is “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.” Can you catch it?This set of pieces was written in the spring of 2016, and first performed at the Weisman Art Museum on June 5, 2016. The project was supported by an Individual Artist Grant through the Minnesota State Arts Board.
